Pro-Tips for Online Author Visits – Cynsations Guest Post

I recently contributed to the guest post “Pro-Tips for Online Author Visits” compiled by author/illustrator and roving Cynsations reporter Linda Joy Singleton for NY Times bestselling award-winning children’s and YA author Cynthia Leitich Smith’s popular industry kidlit blog CYNSATIONS.

Sneak Peek: “Carmen Oliver: One of the ways that I ask teachers to prepare for our Skype session together is to work with their students to prepare 10-to-15 questions they can ask me during our virtual session.

Why? Because when children are involved in the process they care more about the outcome. They are invested. They want to know the answers to their questions. They are much more excited and looking forward to the event. It also shows them how much we value their input. And that we think their voices matter.”

Check out the full post HERE to see contributions from fellow kidlit authors Erin Dealey, Patricia Newman, Beth McMullen, Christina Soontornvat, Lisa Schmid, Lori Mortensen, and Sue Fleiss.

A special thank you and shout out to Linda Joy Singleton on all her hard work on this post and to Cynthia Leitich Smith and her brilliant interns who keep CYNSATIONS up and running!
